Am I the Right Photographer for You?

This might surprise you, but as much as I would love to photograph every family, every newborn, every child, and every senior that reaches out to me…

I know I’m not the right photographer for everyone.

And that’s okay.

Choosing a photographer is about so much more than finding someone with a camera. You’re inviting someone into some of your most meaningful moments. You’re trusting them to document your family’s connection, your baby’s first days, your child’s personality, or your senior’s once-in-a-lifetime milestone.

That’s a big deal.

I truly believe the best photography experiences happen when photographer and client are the perfect fit. So, let’s find out…

Have You Looked Through My Work?

This is always the very first question I encourage potential clients to ask themselves.

By now, you may have stumbled across my website, social media, or blog. But if you haven’t taken a deep dive into my portfolio yet, I encourage you to do so.

Don’t just look at one image.

Look at several galleries.

Pay attention to:

  • The emotions
  • The colors
  • The posing
  • The interactions
  • The details that seem to repeat themselves

Then ask yourself:

Can I imagine my family in these photographs?

If the answer is yes, we’re off to a wonderful start.

Do You Love Connection More Than Perfect Props?

My style is simple.

At the heart of every session, my focus is connection.

I want the laughter. The snuggles. The tiny hands holding yours. The way your senior smiles when they talk about their future. The way your newborn curls into your chest.

I love a beautiful prop as much as the next photographer, and I certainly use chairs, baskets, blankets, and simple pieces that enhance a session. I also adore themed mini sessions and special setups.

But the people always matter more than the props.

That said, if you have something meaningful to bring, I am all for it.

Is Twister your family’s favorite game? Bring it.

Do you have a quilt that Grandma made? Let’s use it.

Do you have a memory bear made from a loved one’s clothing? I would be honored to incorporate it.

The most meaningful sessions are often the ones that tell your story.

Do You Love Light, Airy, and Timeless Images?

Every photographer has their own editing style.

Some photographers create dark and moody images. Others embrace heavy vintage tones, hazy edits, or dramatic color grading.

And some photographers do those styles beautifully.

That’s just not my style.

I gravitate toward images that feel:

  • Light and airy
  • Crisp and timeless
  • Soft and genuine
  • True to life

I want your photographs to feel like you’re stepping right back into that moment.

I want you to remember how the sunlight felt, how tiny your newborn looked in your arms, or how your child couldn’t stop giggling.

If that sounds like the kind of images you love, then we may be a wonderful fit.

Do You Trust Professional Guidance?

I’ve been photographing families for more than 15 years.

Over the years, I’ve learned a thing or two.

I know:

  • When weather is working against us
  • When illness means we should reschedule
  • Which locations photograph beautifully at different times of day
  • Which props are safe for newborns
  • How many outfit changes work best for senior sessions
  • How to adapt when toddlers suddenly decide they have other plans

My goal is never to make decisions for you.

My goal is to use my experience to guide you and create the very best experience possible.

If you’re looking for someone who will gently lead the way and help take the guesswork out of the process, we may be the perfect fit.

Can You Embrace the Beauty of Real Life?

Pinterest and TikTok are wonderful places for inspiration.

But it’s important to remember something:

Every family is different.

Every baby is different.

Every child is different.

Every senior is different.

Not every trend, pose, or outfit will work for every session—and that’s okay.

The best photographs happen when we embrace what makes your family unique and create a session centered around you rather than trying to recreate someone else’s story.

I believe in keeping expectations realistic and allowing your personalities and relationships to shine.

Because perfection isn’t the goal.

Connection is.

My Clients Are My People

One of my favorite things about this job is that over the years, my clients become more than clients.

They become my people.

I watch babies grow up.

I photograph seniors who I first met as toddlers.

I celebrate engagements, weddings, newborns, and growing families.

I genuinely value my clients, their time, their stories, and the trust they place in me.

And in return, my clients value my time, my business, my family, and my heart behind what I do.

We simply work well together.

So… Am I the Right Photographer for You?

If you love timeless images filled with genuine connection…

If you appreciate guidance and trust the process…

If you value meaningful moments over perfection…

If you want photographs that feel like your family rather than a trend…

Then there’s a good chance I’m your photographer.

And if I’m not, that’s okay too.

The right photographer-client relationship should feel comfortable, exciting, and natural from the very beginning.

So ask questions. Browse portfolios. Reach out. Let’s chat.

Because when you find the photographer that feels like your people, that’s where the magic happens.
